I've tried to figure it out but just don't get it...

Thanks,

The Parktool website might help you understand better.

I think Campag uses 45 degree bearings so that CRC link should work.

But if the bearings are worn then you should just be able to get new bearings no need for a whole headset. Pop the old bearings out, there should be a number printed on it, type that into google and you should get lots of results from online bearing shops which are usually much cheaper.

I don't think that CRC one you linked to will fit: well according to Cane Creek anyway. What they say you need for that make, model and year is (assuming original fork):

Upper Headset Fit
EC 34 /28.6

Lower Headset Fit
EC 34 /30

ie the head tube is 34mm top and bottom.

Thanks for the links above. I'm still finding it hard to identify which to buy so I'm better off going to the LBS.

Thanks anyway.

What's actually wrong with the headset? Play in the headset or parts missing? or ??

It could be quite a cheap and simple solution.

Jairaj,

There isn't one! It went awol from the parts bin after I stripped the parts off it for the new bike. The LBS had trouble finding the correct one so had to find it from the frame number. It's on order so should be here soon. Even with your link above it was still hard to identify, even worse trying to match it to CRC parts.

Thanks,

I had a stumpy from the same year and headset was described exactly the same. This fitted http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/fsa-orbit-cf-headset/rp-prod12760

My Camber (2012 model but same as 2011 frames) takes the same one tiredjohn just posted, either the Orbit CF or CE. I'd say it was a safe bet that yours needs that one too but give Specialized a call. They were really helpful when I called to double check which one my frame needed.
