Are there any alternatives to the original suppliers kit?
My FSA bearing though admittedly having lasted the year have needed constant adjustment. So I know what bearings I need (size & model from http://thebearinghub.com/) MR054 & MR110 but where to look for alternatives?

Simply Bearings get refered to a lot on here as well as a chap called Kaesae on ebay; think his seller id is airborne.

Needing constant adjustment is more likely an issue with it loosening - not the bearings - are you confident they've had it?

AFAIK headset bearings are proprietry to the bike industry, unlike hub bearings etc which are industry standards, so you need to order from Bikeco.

yes constant tweaking was needed all year, and I'm surprised they've lasted this long with all of it... I even had to add in an extra (small) headset spacer to take the slack out. So I'm not willing to take it to pieces to check the condition, until I have spare bearings ready to go back in.

Bikeco? ... www.bikeco.co.uk ??

Bikeco = whoever supplies the right bearings.

Are the bearings rough? Are you just wanting to replace them because of the need to fit the spacer?

I want to get replacements ready because I can't believe there still turning! Have visions of them falling to dust, and as this is the only bike I ride.. I'd rather not wait until after the event.
