It depends what you mean by flattish - which can be subjective!
There is no singletrack route along the valley, however there is a good cycle path from Peebles to Walkerburn which is about 7-8 miles long. Good cafes in Walkerburn, Cardrona (Nashy's) and of course Peebles. You don't say where you are starting, but you could do one way along the cycle path and the other on the back road on the other side of the river, via Kailzie and Traquair.
I wouldn't be tempted by the river path heading north west out of Peebles - it is subject to a strict "we don't walk our dogs on your bike park" rule among the locals. It is just not worth it.
Staying at Glentress Lodge in a van don't fancy moving it I could take the straps for a pull up the hill 🙂
Adrenalin run an uplift service some days at Glentress - leaves from the layby just after the visitor centre and takes you to the Buzzards.
It is worth checking their website or phone Gordo - the number is there.
There is a thread here somewhere with locals giving their opinions on the various local café options I will let you find that treat. Most people are talking shite but my opinions are 100 percent FACT.
Link Hels please
Up lift would be great never knew they offered that !
