potentially quite interesting, get past the marketing speak "end to end strategy" and the fact is they're going to make the steel, then make their bikes out of that steel.

And the cynic in me says that enough tax breaks were thrown their way to get them to keep the UK Tata plants running that it might all be financially viable.

Yes, no sign of prices. If they are to be made in the UK even on minimum wages the cost of making the frame will be expensive.

Is there room for an expensive steel framed HT mtb in the market.

Especially with the likes of Canyon and YT doing top bikes for bugger all direct.

Thread on MTBR suggested £1500 for the frame which is pretty insane if not fully custom.

A Swarf tips in under £1k for the standard geometry for example.

Picture of the 'Prime' HT on Singletrack's Instagram earlier looked veeeery nice.. Went online to check prices and as mentioned above, no prices listed and £100 to 'register interest', on what - no geo sizing or cost!?

Edit: found this https://dirtmountainbike.com/bike-reviews/trail-enduro-bikes/trillion-prime-brand-new-160mm-british-steel-hardtail.html still not worth dropping £100 on an unknown..

Mrs Monkeysfeet works for Tata. 20% discount perhaps?

More like 20% wage cut to become competitive with the Far East.

Vid says about 1400 for a frame I think which is crazy money for an off the shelf one.

£1400 is far too much, you're into Ti Vendetta territory there.

More like 20% wage cut to become competitive with the Far East.

More like a 20% rebate to Tata from the government in exchange for not totally closing the British steel industry.

Someone posted a pic of the welds somewhere and, urm, they looked a bit special, but not in a good way

The welds were hard to see and sometimes in shadow but they looked a bit lumpy and uneven.
