Found a Kinesis Tripster at the tip this morning. Very odd thing to throw away. Anyone heard of one going missing? Possibly not recently by the looks of it. V2 version.

Have you given it a new (even if temporary) home?

And checked for cracks? Kinesis do like a crack every now and then.......

(Always check here when you spot a suspect bike, we have re-united a few owners!)

Wow, well done Hannah... I think I would've kept it quiet! 😀

Careful inspection required: goosed BB, crack in the head tube etc etc are all possibilities.

Full bike or frame?

I commuted on an Orange P7 with seized seatpost for a year after discovering it in a tip, as well as repaired a Big Dog kayak, paddled it for two years and sold it for £150...

It’s a partial bike. Still has some rather good pedals and lighting fixtures on, which is weird.

People are odd. We’ve found quite remarkable things being thrown out. Parents empty bedrooms of their student offspring etc. students leave remarkable good bikes to waste after they leave university - one of my colleagues has a penchant for the bottle and after a heavy night on the town entirely forgot where they left their bike - just shrugged and said nope no idea - but doing a check in the database above is good plus well done for posting here.

@notasingleidea.

Agree.

About 20 years ago my dad asked,

What do you want me to do with that old bmx? Take it to the tip?

Yeah, guess so.

WTF was i thinking?

It was an absolute dream bike for me as a 14 year old in 84. Got it for £30 in 94. Chucked it in 04.

Go on, look up a torker 280x on ebay IN 24.

I checked Stolen Bikes - I hadn't realised it had closed 🙁 - and it doesn't match. Police apparently have a really crap system for logging bikes so they can't search anything but local reports (FFS). So it appears to be ours (or, Ant, who fished it out the bins) to keep.

Will have a good crack hunt!
