i'm having some issues with my Marzocchi Z1 Sport RV....
the pinch bolt on the fork lower on the disc side started to work itself loose a few years ago, which i managed to remedy with a slightly longer bolt as part of the thread had stripped itself. this was fine up until a fortnight ago when tightening this bolt i managed to round it off. using a torx bit i managed to extract the bolt and replace it with another but now that has come loose or should i say what remaining thread there was is now well and truly stripped....
i've managed to force a larger bolt in for the time being but this is not really tightening the fork lower around the front axle, so the axle is not fully secure on one side. obviously i expect at some point this bodge will fail spectacularly....so my question is this....do i try and source some new fork lowers or should i write off the fork and replace them?
if it's time for a new fork...what should i go for?
any suggestions would be most welcome...it needs to run a 20mm front hub, have at least 150mm travel and have a traditional 1"1/8th steerer tube.
thanks
you may be able to get it helicoiled if there's enough material around the hole to drill it out a bit.
looks like a trip to the LBS beckons....
