Just picked up a second hand Fatty so need to take it on its inaugural ride.
Staying in Edinburgh, I figured I should head down East Lothian way since I'm going to a birthday party at Fox Lake just outside Dunbar on Sunday afternoon.

Here's my plan... tell me if it wouldn't work or if there's something better. Note I stay in Edinburgh and don't have a car.

Get train to Dunbar.
Cycle on coast/John Muir Way? to North Berwick
Cycle down some lanes to Fox Lake
Party my ass off
Cycle back to Dunbar to get the train home

Mostly wondering about the riding between Dunbar and N. Berwick - no idea of the conditions or suitability.

Dave at Law Cycles in North Berwick hires out fat bikes so could also advise on local routes, you can get the train direct from Edinburgh to North Berwick. The train used to run about every half hour from Waverly.

Coastkid would be the man to ask . Alternatively get the train to Longniddry and pick up the John Muir way along the coast to Aberlady nature reserve then have a play around the Nature reserve (Subs) and along the coast to Gullane and onto North Berwick . It's about 6 miles inland from there to Foxlake.

Well, seems like no one is home on that forum to approve my registration.

Gonna stick with my original plan. Mostly cos I want to return from Dunbar as it'll be late after the party. Makes £££s sense to go out to there because of the stupid way a return costs 10p more than a single or whatever

I'll let youse know if it is doable. Think so, John Muir Way goes out to Dunbar
