I've bought a 145mm Bontrager Line Comp rear wheel. Shoulda checked more carefully.

My bike is 142mm.

Can I space down or is it easier to sell on again?

145mm isn’t boost (148mm). A quick google suggests it’s used for tandems.

I’d sell it on.

See how complex...

It's 148mm.
My bike is not.

Depends what its going in...might fit in a steel hardtail given a bit of flex, maybe not in stiff carbon rear. Have you tried? The curiosity of it would have me trying

:edit: just seen your new post....sell it on, its the current common standard so wouldn't be too hard given the lack of stock out there

It can't be done, even if the end caps are replaced with 142 spacing the rotor mounts will not line up with the caliper when fitted to a non boost frame. As above shouldn't be too difficult to shift
