Looks clever. I have no idea how it works though having read the article - can someone point me towards a sime diagram of how the 'gears' adjust? And the oil transmits the power? Eh?

Saw this a few years back. The theory is great, I'm just waiting for them to build one that works off road.

clever to get it so compact.

as they say, will never be light but the target market isn't that bothered by weight.

be interested to see one with electric assist too.

My two-line verdict:

Heavier and more expensive than Alfine with less of a gear-range.
But niche-tastic if that's your thing.

Seems like it has great potential for things like cargo bikes where weight isn't an issue, but maintenance, skipping transmission and loss of momentum are.
