I've a couple of oldish Endura shorts and jackets and they've been very good. Looking at getting some tights but seem to be a fair number of people saying the quality recently has been poor whereas 5 years ago or so it was excellent. Is this the case ... ?

It's always been average IMO, the pro team stuff is decent but it's a fair jump in price on their usual kit

Have never really been a fan of endura stuff quality wise.
Polaris stuff is just as good quality far cheaper and better fitting IMO :-). (but then i'm not exactly built like an xc whippet... more like a wwe wrestler..)

Bought some of their DH baggies the other month and they are most excellent. Very well put together - tough but lightweight, quality fabrics & fasteners. Much better than similar kit from Dakine TLD Royal etc

I got a pair of Singletrack shorts a while back and they've been excellent. Better fitting and way more durable than the Altura ones I got around the same time.

Can but try. I've had a mixed experience, all my old Endura kit was bombproof, lasted years. The newer stuff has all had loose stitching and the sizing has suddenly gone all over the shop (I can't fit my legs in L Singletrack shorts for example but can take a size M jacket!) Having said that, the warranties dept were excellent and they've repaired a few bits of stuff for free. Though I suppose you could argue they shouldn't have to have repaired it in the first place!

Singletrack shorts are my all time best buy, bike related purchase. Durable, well fitting, water repellent & stylish

Recently? 😀

If by downhill you mean mis-labeled sizing, three pairs of longs with sections of stitching missing out of the packet, a chamois that fails at the seams in a handful of rides, waterproof gloves that aren't, riding gloves where the stitching fails after a few rides, large leg warmers that are just too damn tight for legs that aren't large, a pair of three quarters that had a hole in them develop after one dry cross bike ride on the road with no falls and not having caught on the saddle or frame then no, it's not a recent change.

I'd love to support a Scottish company but their kit has just let me and the missus down too many times sadly. We're an unrepresentative sample of two but we've both experienced more problems per piece of clothing made by Endura than from any other manufacturer which is a bit of a shame.

Polaris make clothing for Edinburgh Bicycles Revolution range...which is cheaper! Good quality kit!

I thought it was about 5 years ago that it went downhill?

Had a few issues with weird sizing and a waterproof which they repaired (under warranty) for me but recently their stuff seems to have gone back to it's usual good quality.

Got a couple of their jackets, several pairs of shorts (lycra and baggy), socks, gloves, overshoes, all sorts and it's all excellent. The Stealth jacket is probably my most used bit of kit - daily for commuting, it'll do three seasons (in spite of how warm everyone says it is).

Brilliant kit at a decent price. As I say, a few years ago it was definitely a bit iffy at times but it's back to it's best now.

Singletrack shorts
Baa Baa long/short sleeved tops
Baa Baa socks
Stealth Jacket

All excellent purchases from the last 15 months.

The Convert jacket had to be warranty replaced due to the stitching coming away, on the cuff piping, after about a month, however...

Cooled on them a bit as I've just had two pairs of superlight shorts rip along the crotch seam - generally though I think endura are a good outfit, fairly priced.
Their warranty / customer service is superb (but then it needs to be :))

I've got Singletracks and MT500 baggy shorts and I rated them highly.

Last summer I got some Fox Ultimatum shorts. So much better they are like a different species.

Same thing happened with my singletracks, and their liners are incredibly uncomfortable. Won't be buying any more of their stuff.

More recent purchases seem better TBH.

I've got a windchill jacket and after 2 weeks the cuff stitching has come undone. Rather than moan because i love the jacket i've just stitched it up myself.

MT 500 spray baggies started leaking after a few rides - seam up the arse split after 6 months ridiculous for £70.00 (I still can't believe I paid £70.00 for shorts!)

My humvee shorts have been fine

Ditto my FS260 winter jersey (probably my most worn bit of kit).

Only complaint is the jersy is an odd fit, it's XL but doesn't account for the fact that most people who're XL are probably not 'in proportion', it's cut for a 6ft6 guy with a 50" chest and 36" waist, rather than a normal 6ft guy with a 42" chest and 36" waist.

Our team kit is made by Endura and it really isn't any good.

As mentioned above, I'm a medium jersey, large shorts, xl leg warmer. but large jackets. The socks are 1 size fits all??? (no one) The chamois in all 5 pairs of my equipe shorts has come unstitched in under 6 months, the zips have all broken on my jerseys and most of the pockets have come unstitched.

Very poor for the money we pay out. Having said all that it's a massive improvement over the Impsport stuff we used to have!!

BaaBaa merino long sleeved base layer
Merino socks
Humvee shorts
Strike gloves
Endura waterproof jacket (forgot what it's called)

All bought in the last 6 montha and all bloody excellent - got me through the Winter very nicely thanks.

I think so. Their wind proof winter gloves aren't wind proof - you can feel the cold air leaking in through the seams between the fingers. Stuck with them now, how on earth do you prove that in the shop?

Have worn Singletrack and Hummvee shorts for the last 6(?) years. To wear a pair of shorts at least once a week and never have a problem across all seasons is pretty good going in my experience.

My riding kit is mainly endura and gore. The endura stuff is durable, well designed and quite well made. The gore stuff is better finished and last about same amount of time.

I'll go the other way and state that their waterproof gloves (the Deluge) are far and away the best gloves I've ever owned.

I'm a right picky bugger with gloves; hate bulky ones but I also suffer with cold hands and although I've had good gloves (mostly Specialized) over the years, these Endura ones are ace and actually properly waterproof.

90s gear was good, then from about 2000 onwards anything I bought - shirts, 3/4s, gloves, good, socks - was all rubbish and either fell apart within weeks or just didn't do what it said it would. Bought a lightweight race cape last October and it seems pretty good. Made in china though.
impsport gear isn't badly made its just that the fit and sizing has no relationship to human bodies.

I'm really pleased with their gear

10 months with one pair of gloves - used a lot and not split. I normally get 6 months max

Humvee shorts - 2 years with lots of use - my favorite

MT500 ahorts - great light and relatively splash proof

Baa Baa baselayer - i wear it around the house - well comfy 🙂

All good gear without being silly prices

Have a pair of Singletrack shorts now for nearly 4 years and although not worn every week they are still holding firm, which is good as not a fan of the new singletrack short design (like belts not poppers) of the MT500 price!
Also highly rate there Merino socks, Humvee shorts and their gillets.

A bit like the curates egg - when it's good it's very good, when bad can be awful. Mostly, it seems to be the former. Sizing can be a bit variable between styles. I do wonder if there's a bit of discontinuity between the Made in Scotland stuff and the bits that are outsourced. Still knocks any Altura stuff into a cocked hat though!

Excusing the sizing which is hilarious, the products range from excellent to complete rubbish.

MT500 Jacket - Not just the best bit of riding kit I own, this thing far surpasses Musto, Rab, Mountain Equipment and Paramo kit for waterproof, breatheability, build quality and value. It's utterly brilliant and if you struggle to get motivated to ride in the wet this will completely change that.

Conversely my merino socks were a complete joke. They wore out in half a ride. I'd have been warmer and better off using those ones they give away free on a plane. Rubbish.

Singletrack shorts are excellent. Humvees also are worth a mention. A liner and an outer for £45, bargain.

Their jerseys are rubbish compared to fox. But then I've not tried many.

All just my opinion of course, you might get different results!

Sizing is a bit of a giggle but my hummvees have done five years of regular use and mt500 shorts are similarly still going after four years. Haven't tried the jackets or jerseys however.

Have had a selection of 3/4 and normal Humvee shorts, spray baggies and the odd top. Find their baa baa merino top too tight on my bulging upper body (in my dreams...), but the other stuff has lasted well.

Sizing seems to be random.

My wife has a ladies' convert jacket which seems fine and I have a pair of their knee pads, but both have had too little use to comment.

My main decision when going with Endura has been price, which usually seems fair. I have recently got a soft shell Gore Alp X and the quality is impressive.

All if the stuff I have has been bought in the last 6 years or so that I have been riding, so can't comment on how things were back I the day when East17 was in the charts and I thought Ford Fiestas were the height of cool.

I've got a pair of endura tech pants and convert jacket used regularly for commuting duties and riding in my free time.

Little disappointed in the proofing of the trousers but otherwise all good. Sizing is questionable though (like so many brands).
