Instead of a rear mount rack with the bike sideways a rack that carriers the bike in the same orientation as a roof mount.
No height, width or light rack worries. If you were reversing you'd have to remember the bike on the back ,but not too much.
I guess you'd take the front wheel out and mount using the forks.

Yes but not seem them for years you removed the front wheel and then attached the forks using a skewer in the same way a roof mount one works

I'm sure they work really well but I'd never trust one of those sucker ones.

The problem with the seasuckers i'd have would be "will the glass hold" on repeat in my head!

I was behind a car yesterday with a rack like that, turns out it was the saris one above.
