Has anyone installed the motion control damper on a RS Domain fork?

If so, is it easy/did you find any useful videos? I've got a new bike coming with the basic domain fork and this looks looks like a good cheap upgrade (if I can find one in stock).

The SRAM site doesn't list fitting instructions and therefore I am not convinced it will come with any, which scares me!

cheers

If you can fit a Motion Control you should also be able to fit a Novyparts Splug - that’s what I’d be doing. Looks like you’re about £75 for the MoCo, Splug is around £125 (depending on exchange rate at the time)

It's dead easy to do - top cap off, old damper stack out, new adjustable damper in. Question is why would you want to do it? MoCo dampers are garbage - the upgrade kit just gives you adjustable garbage. Sadly there's not many other options tho. The Splug appears to only come in 35mm, so that's out - but might be worth asking them if they have any options. There's a charger 2.1 kit too, and there's a very fancy damper from Fast - but both those are £300+. I think I'd just be trying to find a good price on a mid-high spec Zeb or 38 instead.

I just stuck a RC2 Charger 2.1 in mine before I'd ridden it (and a Smashpot in the other side this weekend after spending ages finding a used one with the correct bottom and top and buying the new spring perch allows its use in the domain)

I'd stay well away from MoCo if possible, the only fork (32mm) i had with it they kept breaking.

Moco RC is cheap but it's still a basic damper, and that's a lot of fork. I think you also have the option of fitting a charger? Which is not my favourite damper either but it's a ton better than moco.

It's kind of, if the Domain is really a suitable fork, then neither standard Moco or Moco RC is really a suitable damper, anything that calls for that much chassis and travel also really needs decent damping. The exception being bike park jumpy stuff I guess? But who in the UK buys a bike for that?

Surprised there's no standalone upgrades out there yet. Or is there?

Isn’t the Domain already running the motion control damper??
I just took one out of mine and put in the 2.1 charger damper
Runs like a dream now

It is, but the low spec one has limited adjustment. You can add the Motion Control Damper Upgrade Kit to give more compression / rebound adjustment.
