As per the title really. Interested in any good or bad experiences and general advice as I am considering entering the 2021 edition.
three friends have, i've done Trans Provence, if that helps? 🙂
A mate of mine did it this year (and podiumed). He loved it...amazing experience with some really tough days (one day was 9 hrs long with a 2hr hike a bike IIRC) but equally amazing stages that made it worth it.
I'm tempted to enter 2021 as well, but it is pricey
How much is it roughly? I had noticed a distinct lack of pricing info online but had a rough amount in mind that I thought it might be.
@lucky7500 1650 EUR. Price is now up on the web site.
@howsyourdad1 Nah, rides a Trek and lives in Somerset! Finished 3rd in Vets.
aha, a different shredder!
OP, did you go for it? Ive got a place in the September version....just need to decide whether I take up the spot given everything thats going on in the world.
I didn't in the end. I had decided that I would and was set to get up on Sunday morning ready to apply. I then read an email that had been sent from the organisers a day or two earlier which briefly mentioned that more uplift had been added to the event, reducing pedalling to about 800m per day (rather than I think more like 1500m previously unless I imagined that on the site). For me, that changed things from being more of an adventure to moving a bit close to doing five days riding with Freeride albeit in race conditions. I really enjoy the riding on Madeira so will almost certainly go with Freeride at some point next year but will look out for other events.
Just spotted this. I'm heading out in a few weeks as well. How you feeling about it? I'm teetering between excited and conscious my ambition with outweigh my ability.

Have you ridden there before?
First time in Madeira. Watched as many videos as I can, but they don't do it justice. I've been told to expect all types of riding in all weathers.
