My other half has just ordered a Cube Reaction Hybrid for rides with me around the Peak District and the odd canal side pootle. It's a 29er with Schwalbe Smart Sams 2.6 inch wide. According to the bike shop, they are not tubeless ready (although the rims are).
Does anyone have any tubeless tyre recommendations? The Smart Sams actually look OK tread wise for mixed riding so something similar would be good.
Also, tubeless inserts - I suspect that they may come in handy on a hardtail ebike (heavy!). Any thoughts welcome 😀.
Rocket Rons are similar to the Sam’s or if it’s drier Racing Ray / Racing Ralph combo.
Daft question. Do they come in ebike flavours? I've read mixed reports about whether they are necessary.
Part of me thinks ebike specific tyres are possibly even more essential on a hardtail as the rear end will take more of a beating (so to speak).

Have a look on the Schwalbe website. The Rons are E25 rated…

They’re not. But a foam insert on the back is a good idea on any hardtail being ridden hard through rocks unless you step up to much heavier casings (which roll way slower because they’re less flexible, not because they’re heavier).
I’d fit a Rimpact at the back, tubeless tape the rims, swap the tubes for tubeless valves and see if the current tyres hold air with sealant added.

Yes, I run a Schwalbe Pro Core set-up - it's what I had handy - in the back of a full sus Levo, also in the Peak, after hammering several tyres to near death at not unreasonable speeds. I wouldn't stress over whether the tyres are e-specific though, as long as they're reasonably tough and you don't try running silly low pressures.
Cheers everyone. Definitely going to pick up some inserts.
