Over the last few months, I've been wanting to get a full suss bike again, I sold my last one (SC Hightower) just over two years ago, I'd only ridden it 4 times in the year I owned it and with child number 2 due imminently i knew that wasn't going to get any better and every time I went into the shed to get one of the other bikes out I felt slightly guilty about how much money was tied up in a bike that didn't get used.

By December last year I'd lost a bit of my mojo, I'm bored of road riding on my own and all the local gravel tracks were knee deep! The gravel bike went on the turbo inside the house and I stripped the eagle drivetrain and pikes off my Tarn and put the spare XT groupset back on. and quickly realised how much fun that bike is as an over tyre rigid bike.

So I'm sat on a pair of forks and an eagle groupset, I already had a pair of 29er wheels and I'd kept a few other bits from the hightower too, so only needing a pair of brakes and a crankset a plan was hatched to use the cycle to work scheme to buy a frame...Only by the time I was able to order a voucher, everything I had shortlisted was out of stock.

While waiting to see if the Sonder Evol became available to order again in time for me to order a voucher (I hadn't dared to order one before it came back just in case the price had gone up since last year, and I still couldn't decide between L or XL size) I thought I'd do a quick ebay search not expecting to find anything, but there it was, an XL 29er Evol with the Cane creek shock upgrade! I messaged the seller straight away and a deal was done.

I collected the frame on Monday and finished building it yesterday morning, rear hose needs to be replaced as it's too short (currently bodged on to the outside of the frame) and nowhere locally had one in stock. Really happy that I ended up with the XL, I've never felt so at home on a new bike so quickly.
