Recently picked up a cheap 10speed 11-50th cassette, so use with a 10speed SLX rear mech.
By eye I can see I'm probably going to need a hanger extender - but are they all of a muchness these days?
It used to be all about the goat link, but now you can get extenders for under a fiver - what are the pitfalls I need to avoid?
(Not sure if it makes a difference but it's QR drop outs)

Just fitted a Sunrace which cost 7quid from merlin or 9quid from amazon, for a similar set up as yours.

Seems OK so far for a grand total of 1 ride...

I'd probably avoid the really cheap eBay specials.

I used a cheap one on the lads bike that came with an aliexpress cassette (42 tooth). No problem with old 9 speed XT mech.
Just ordered a similar looking one from Alpkit for £3.50 to do similar on my commuter. 11-42 is plenty range on that bike. The low gears are only needed for occasional steep hills and occasional trailer loads.
I don't think this would extend enough for 50 tooth with my mech. Depends a bit on the max reach of the original mech. It extends it about 25mm. Both look more that the wolftooth road link than goat link.

Previous cassette had a 46th biggest cog, I think, so shouldn't need much more extensionto get to 50.
Couldn't see the alpkit one on their site, so will give sunrqce a go. Cheers

@jimfrandisco it's a bit hidden in the clearance section.
