Mrs A mostly rides on the road but also enjoys MTB. She is a very active person, swimming, walking, biking, running locally here in hilly Wales. She's not a slacker. However she was coasteering recently and complained of a lack of hand strength, likewise at CyB recently. What might I suggest to her that could be of help?
Are powerballs suitable/ any good?
What about those squeezy hand grip things?

Powerballs are great because the resistance increases when you get it going faster.
I’ve used one a couple of times to help overcome a minor rsi, and I definitely feel it’s better than a squashy.
YWMMV
Decathlon for grip trainer things and squashy rings. V cheap.
Good for rehab but a bit of a gimmick otherwise IMO.
Deadlifts, pull-ups, climbing etc all great for grip strength.
I do alot of climbing and train grip strength. Deadlifts, deadhangs (two handed and one handed, can start with feet on the floor and put weight through the hands/fingers) and finger curls with a dumbbell are excellent
Kettlebell clean and press.
Power balls are fun as well but they never really did anything for me as once you get the knack they’re pretty effortless.
CrossFit (functional fitness) is pretty good for working on grip (and all-round) strength/fitness. As said above deadlifting, pull up, hangs, farmer’s carry, Olympic weightlifting are all good for building arm and grip strength.
We both used to do a lot of climbing, canoeing and kayaking and thus had a good level of strength. Mine still seems good but Mrs A's less so, as above.
I think that it is probably because whilst we are both now based in a classroom I do far more manual work at home- e.g. DIY, gardening and mechanics on the cars/ bikes plus general upkeep and repairs.
I have a set of things that someone got me for my birthday cos I climb. There's a squeeze ring, a squeeze thing with adjustable tension and one with individual springs for each finger. Oh and a ball. I tend to use them on dull Teams meetings. No idea if they actually make any difference (strong fingers don't stop me being a weighty lump) but they keep me entertained...
A 15min every morning with a oversized wet brick. Write the alphabet with it in each hand then swap.
Costs nothing if you dumpster dive
