Hi, i have some halo hubs and the endcaps just seem to be loose which causes left and right movement in the wheel slightly when back in the forks (when you grab the wheel side to side and there's play)
Is the answer that i need to get two cone spanners (i didn't think these were even used anymore) and nip them up tight, but not too tight to create friction?
With the other bike i have (Capra) the left and the right end caps spin individually but aren't loose, however with these hubs they seem to just be loose.
I only ask as i don't have cone spanners and want to use the correct tools for the job
Many Thanks
I have the MT hubs with supadrive. End caps are threaded, ao yes, they likely do need a nip up.
Thanks I thought the days of cup and cone were dead but sounds like I need to buy some cone spanner’s!
I’ve got a toolkit but Doesn’t seem to have cone spanners!
Cup and come are all over cheap bikes still.
My Halo hubs are sealed cartridge bearings though. They just use the flats for the end caps.
Fortunately, the spanners are easily available and pretty cheap.
