I have one of the Halfords 1600 lumen bike lights (the one with the 3 bulbs) and its been really good but the rubber strap has broken.
I've looked on-line but can't see any replacements being sold separately. Does anyone know of any rspare parts that fit, or any bodges to make it work?

I used a GoPro mount like this one when I had that light. Solid as a rock.
Yes I’ve also used an old hope qr mount in mine. Rock solid.
Just be aware the Hope QR mount doesn't fit around 35mm bars. Otherwise it's great.
Another vote for the hope mount. Rubber mount bounced around a lot and the light pointed down more and more on rocky descents. Not ideal. Hope mount fixes that.

I use one on my 35mm bird bars and just mount it where they reduce in diameter. I wasn't expecting it to work well but it stays put over rough terrain. Something as good to properly fit 35mm bars would be ideal though.

Exposure QR cleat and bracket works really well. I bought a shorter M5 bolt so as not to puncture the battery. Downside is that it costs a not insignificant portion of the otherwise cheap light.
As I already had an exposure mount, I bought a spare cleat and fitted it to the halfords light. Istr, it did take a bit of raking in the bolt jar to find an appropriate sized bolt, but once ddone, rock solid.
Does anyone have a stem mount they can suggest?
My do it all bike has only a few mm's between bar tape and stem, and that is the 'bulge' to the stem. Clamps just don't work well there.

The same happened to me a few weeks back. I still haven't done anything about it but I do miss the handlebar light so I should get my act together!

Then buy the helmet mount from halfords which comes with a bracket you can use with a go pro mount on the bottome of the stem mount

Thanks for the replies. The Hope thing is out of stock (certainly at SJS) and the only issue with the go-pro style mount (it seems to me) is that then the light is upside-down, so you can't see the lights that tell you the charge state, or what mode you are in.
I might have to try a bodge on the rubber mount, but its not clear to me how yet.
I've bastardised one of those out-front, under slung Go-Pro mounts (like robbo1234biking posted above) onto a Stem top cap (originally a Garmin mount cap) on my rigid MTB, the mounting screws happened to be on the exact same size and pitch.
So now I've got my BH1000 (basically the same mounting features as the 1600) mounted bang in the centre over the stem, it's great (IMO).
I've also got one of those out-front mounts on my Road bike so I can put the same light on there, but TBH if I'm road riding at night I'll use my winter road bike with Dynamo lights and a basic USB charging mini LED light, Full owl melting capability on the bars is really more use offroad.
Oh and I've got a cheapy 31.8mm Go-Pro mount with a split clamp like this:
IIRC it was like £2 and a month or so wait from China, but it's come in handy a few times for mounting lights both above and below bars on a few different bikes, worth having just as a fall back option.
But yeah Go Pro mounts are definitely the best way to fit lights to bikes I reckon.
The Hope bracket doesn't fit a 35mm bar as the locking clamp fouls the light so you can't get it to fit...you can get it sitting along the bar as the bar gets narrower though, but if you wanted it tight against the stem, that clamp won't work...if the clamp could be the other way around I reckon it would be perfect.

If you're running 31.8mm bars, then the Hope mount will be significantly better than the rubber band, and is the best #10 you'll spend - trust me. The Exposure bracket is great (I now run Exposures) but is fixed and spendy; the Hope QR is a version of the Lumicycle one that I've been using for over 20 years to attach a series of lights to my bikes. They're simple, easy to fit and remove and don't come loose. As and when your Halfords light decides to cark it, you can move it on to the next light.
