We have a day at Dyfi planned and could do some Dyfi off piste on Day 2 or stop at Gwdyr on the way home.

On a previous trip  I have found the stuff above the Llanwrst end and on the Traws Eyryi earlier this we cycled past the bottom of the trails near Betws (too wet for XC tyre that day). Is it easy enough to link the two areas and looking at Trailforks, which of the trails inbetween are worth a look?

You can do a full day of excellent riding on the Llanwrst end alone, it's waaaaay better than Dyfi off-piste IMO.

There are a few trails beside the Sawbench car park including Granny Smasher, which are very good (bit gnarly). Jizz Lobber above them is more severe, if you want a real challenge.

Ask people there to point you to the Rugby Club descent (not on TF but amazing).

And also head up the top of the main climb and ride the short trails including "wales never fails", there are more than are shown on TF and you can quickly loop back round from the bottom.

You'll spot more off piste bits from the main climb, so have a sniff around the ruined wall on that as well for the start of those.

Thanks Chakaping, I tried messaging you but its not working on phone or chromebook for me.

I found the steep one through the ruined wall and will have a good look on Trailforks for your other suggestions.

The trails at the southern end above Betws are all good if you like steep rooty stuff. You can lap them by climbing the hideous singletrack road up from Betws and turning left just before the Marin crosses it.

As an aside, I'm going to be moving to the area in the not too distant future.

Could anyone recomend nice XC loops around the area ? Not bothered if they are cheeky or not. I;ve done the standard stuff like Marin and Penmachno and Cowlyd / Crafnant.

Thanks!
