I'm a long time Giro helmet wearer and prefer them to any brand really. After getting a Soutlrce MIPS following a bargain tip on here a couple of years ago, I've been waiting for Giro to bring out a top end helmet in a bright colour, which doesn't seem to be happening.
I have broken the visor on my Source plus had the pads disintegrating. Finally managed to get replacement pads and a replacement visor. However, fail time. The visor has the pin bit and the screw bit the other way round than my helmet. That's one perfectly good helmet for the bin. Grr.
Currently riding with a Bell helmet, which I'm not a fan of. Heavier than a Giro, difficult to use the RocLoc equivalent and a bit hotter to ride in.
In a quandary. Do I just buy a non bright Giro helmet (which goes against decades of helmet buying for me)
Does it need the visor? I know MTB helmets all have them these days but they never used to...
It is a point. However, I do like a visor as the sun can be pretty low at the best of times oop North.
Could you not just tape it on with some duck tape and make do?

Go full roadie and wear a casquette?
I have already taped it, glued it, put a weave on it. The visor can't limp on any longer unfortunately.
I had a Source MIPS until it was too worn/crashed to continue and replaced it with a Fixture MIPS as I couldn’t stomach the price of another Source and wanted a bright colour (for commuting). It’s really very good for the price, might be worth seeing what you make of it.
If you only like Giro kids then I’d just get a different colour.
Might give the Fixture a go.
Could bright/reflective stickers be a useful compromise? Buy the helmet you want in a colour you're not so keen on and supliment the visibility issue rather than cobble a peak on?
Interesting thought.
Just check if the helmet outer is okay with the sticker adhesive first, some are okay, some not.
