EDIT Sorry - wrong forum, could a kindly mod move this for me?

I'm thinking about getting the required adapter thing (costs about 30 pounds I think) and an app so I can practice guitar/ play along with tracks from itunes

at the moment I can do something similar using my Line 6 POD, laptop and garage band. However as I have no room to leave everything set-up its a bit of a hastle if you want to just get on with playing - lots of cables etc.

So anyone used them - how are the sounds? Any issues with latency?

Thanks

Tim

no - that's not what I want at all

I already have the phone, and my music is already on the phone

I already have a POD - I don't want to buy another box - I'd rather just stick with what I have

on iPhone[/url]

Korg was just a suggestion for small-no-cable-portable-multi-effects - they're very good.

Otherwise - check out you tube - I take it you speak of the iRig

update

I decided to take the plunge and got the iRig adapter thing from my LGS today

I've downloaded the free amplitube app - and it seems really good

You get a "marshall stack" type amp and a delay in the free app, plus a distortion pedal when you register.

I've shelled out for a couple of my favourites (fender 65 deluxe amp and a tube screamer type pedal) - and I'm very happy - the sounds are very good, better than my POD (hardly surprising as that is getting on for 10 years old now)

Only thing to be aware of - the iRig + guitar cable = heavier than an iphone. I imagine it would be quite easy for your phone to be dragged to the floor by accident, so be careful out there
