I've a week long course in May and will be staying with over for the week. I'm thinking of basing myself near Guisborough, any trail / route advice?

My advice is to pop into Bike Scene & ask. Their lads ride it all the time & are very helpful. It's a great shop so take some money!

Cheers, I'll check it out.

I've seen the trails on Trailforks but I just wanted to get some locals advice, especially after all the high winds we've had of late.

I popped over there a few weeks back having never ridden before just using trail forks and it was fairly easy to find your way around. Not huge amounts of tree damage at the time so I think you should be okay, I'd just use trail forks to plot something and go for a nosy. Plenty of people knocking round on the trails so I'm sure you could ask. I really enjoyed it and would defo go back.

Thanks Goldchick.

Another quick query, what bike should I take?

Either my LLS hardtail or 120mm carbon full bounce?

The trails in guisbrough range from fire road to probably black ( if they were graded trails )
Majority of them point striaght down ... with very few traversing the hill side. Its starting to dry up again which is nice.

Depends how technical you like your paths 🙂

There’s loads of good trails around Guisborough, 120mm FS is perfect.
Message me when you’re there, if I can I’ll show you around.
