going satday morning(all been well),is the best place to start from visitors center or elsewhere?also any must try cake at cafe?

The Cafe @ Pinchinthorpe is good. Do you know the trails there? If not you will be rather disappointed as the good stuff is erm, 'cheeky', and not waymarked. Your best bet is to hook up with the guys on www.mtbguisborough.ning.com im sure they wouldnt mind showing some good bits off. Beware though, it is VERY muddy up there at the mo...

cheers, most of my rides are cheeky due to terrible sense of direction,so will suit me.and would be shocked if it wasnt muddy 🙂

Unless you have a phone/GPS and Strava.

You could always park on the road between guisbrough and hutton vilage on the corner. That's where most people meet for rides so you might find someone milling arrond that'll show you the way.

The red route itself is a bit tame.
