I've got a night in Yarm ahead of a meeting next week. I could put one of the bikes in a get a free night ride in at Guisborough by the looks of it.

Is it worth it at the moment with the rain we've had? Is the forest easy enough to navigate for a 1st timer? Am I going to get murdered as I ride/change? FS or Stooge?

All comments greatly appreciated.

Ask at Bikescene or find the MTBG forum/facebook page, there might be a night ride from Hutton village.

It's easy enough to navigate though, in that most of it is a very steep fireroad climb then find the top of the trails marked on trailforks, ride down, repeat. Unless you want to head over to Captain Cooks or the trails down the other side (can't recall it's name, heading towards the farm).

FS or Stooge

I've ridden it all on rigid bikes, and it's mostly soft rather than rocky, so would suit a long/slack rigid bike like the stooge. But equally it's very steep and technical so probably more dependent on tire choice than suspension travel.
