Are they available by the day? Any recommendations? Approx cost?
Definitely worth checking with the main guide companies to see if they have spare guides/rest day guiding when they're not busy with their guests- I don't know if White Room are doing off-day guiding this year, if they are then you couldn't do better. I've never ridden with Bikevillage, who're in the area, or Trailaddiction who've made Les Arcs itself their base but both get well recommended.

This is Yvan Bonin, he was one of White Rooms' guides the first time I went out, and he may be the greatest man who has ever lived. If Cantona and Yoda had a child... I spent one of the best days of my riding life chasing his wheel around st foye. Je nes parlez pas froglish so I don't actually know what any of that website says but he certainly used to be available to hire as a guide.

They don't guide as such but drop you off and provide a garmin to follow, can be a cheaper option if there is a few of you or you could jump in with me during the week of 15th Aug.
+10000 for yvan

Sam at bikevillage is v good
Coolbus did guiding and uplifts for me a few years back, was spot on
OP the official French guides are typically around €250 a day, imho this shows how a fully guided holiday is great value. Also in my view a guide only makes sense if you have a group of at least 4
