Sorry if this is double post - last one didnt seem to show up!

I have the common problem with my guide RS whereby it sticks when it gets hot. I thought I would be proactive and fix it before summer. I followed in the instructions on youtube all good until it came time to remove the rubber seals. Sods law one of them ripped.....and now I am a little stuffed!! FFS.

Does anyone know if its possible to just buy the seals - i dont need the whole kit for £25 as it contains about 15 bits that are irrelevant! I can see a plunger only for sale from Taiwan but that could take 3 weeks to get here!

Looking into it does anyone know if the second gen plunger will fit the gen 1 - I'm assuming they fixed the issue with the plunger material to stop it expanding?

Gen 1 - 11.5018.005.004   http://www.bikegoo.co.uk/components-c8/disc-brake-spares-c11/sram-lever-internals-kit-guide-rs-p598

Gen 2 - 11.5018.005.009   http://www.bikeman.com/BR4929.html

Anyone fitted a G2 plunger to an older RS?

Why don't sram sell individual bits - its really annoying!!

In case anyone searches for the part code numbers in the future. I can confirm that the Gen 2 lever plunger (11.5018.005.009) is a direct replacement for the Gen 1 version The newer plunger is quite different and looks to be made of different plastic. Lever feels a million times different now, ie it actually returns...and quickly 🙂

Storing this in my memory as my lads brake is staring to suffer from this.

Did you get the parts minus all the other bits in the end?

Just came across this searching for Guide rebuild kits. Why are they so impossible to come by in this country?

In all honesty I don't know.

I ended up getting the plunger from either HK or Taiwan (can't remember) in the end.

A bit mental I have to agree.

Can't you send them back to Sram for warranty fix?

Mine came back with new levers 👍
