Looking to replace a bent guide r lever mainly because the reach adjust also doesn’t work.
Cheap kits available on Amazon but will it require a bleed after fitting or will it not open the enclosed fluid system during the job?
Cheers
James
Yes, looks like you have to remove the hose -

Arse....
Cheers
I've just stripped and rebuilt a pair of guide rs for mate.
It's should be a fairly simple (if a tad fiddly) job to replace just the lever with no need to bleed as you don't touch the internal part of system .
Just take out little rubber plug out-undo small torx grub screw beneath ,push out pin ,remove old lever and then replace with new lever ,install pin.tighten grub install rubber plug and voila your done.
This - simple to do and no need to do anything with the actual hydraulics
Excellent thanks, will i be able to replace the lever adjust system as well without affecting the internal part of the system?
A new Guide R brake is £34 onn Planet X right now, if that's an easier option. A new blade is probably 15-20 quid, new brake will have fresh pads, etc.
The lever reach adjuster is part of the lever so no need to touch wet side of brakes.
That Planet X deal seems a good option,if you can't source a lever at decent price.
Cheers did think about replacing the whole unit for one from PX but found a lever kit for 13 quid on amazon
