I've a GRX400 groupset on my gravel bike.
With the rear mech. the manual advises using a piece of extra-flexible OT-RS900 cable outer where the cable enters the mech.
My bike has external routing & no way of joining the OT-RS900 to the normal cable outer was provided so I've just run a full length of SP41 outer to the mech.; the cable loop is small and natural (not forced) & shifting seems fine.
I now have some Jagwire double ended ferrules on order that allow cable outer to be joined. Will I see any benefit patching in a piece of OT-RS900 or am I better off just leaving alone?
Great question. I have exactly this dilemma on my current build and hasn’t heard of double ended ferrules.
I think it’s probably worth it as that bit of outer will need replacing more often
I just use SP41 with my GRX400 and it seems completely fine to me
There connectors are these sort of things (4mm for shift cable).
