[Closed] Grrr Endura

Manufacturing fault? Dodgy zip? Not had a problem with mine.

The zip failed on the first pair of mine I had after almost 12 months. Contacted Endura and they sent me a new pair.

Give that a try or return to where you got them from as faulty.

I'm ashamed and embarrassed to have persevered with Endura for so long

overshoes lasted 3 rides before zips went
2 x singletrack II shorts gone at the crotch
1 x small tights gone at the crotch, zips gone
1 x liner short gone at the arse cheek
1 x humvee shorts gone at the waist fasteners
1 x small tights literally twice the size of the previous small tights
1 x MTR gloves came apart on index finger after 3 months

The old ones are great, but they've gone for a much knobblier zip on the new one which seems a bit rubbish. Jams easily and difficult to do up 🙁

Had it with endura. The overshoes were about the only product I still bothered with but they've now ruined those too.

I just bought a pair of endura gloves, and literally the moment I got the receipt, I thought "why the **** did you do that". I think it must be witchcraft or something.

Sizing is problematic but Endura kit I've had (and still have, original MT500 shorts anyone) has been very good, good wearing, and customer service (smashed a buckle on shorts) has been great.

I'm sure someone mentioned that endura moved from their base in Scotland to somewhere abroad. I use to rate their stuff but my last two pieces of clothing disintegrated or ripped after 3-5 months.

Maybe it's just a coincidence......

What else do people use as alternative??

15 mins with a tube of seam seal and a stiff brush is always worth it on any winter gear, makes the seams last loads longer

I very much doubt I'll ever by Endura stuff again. Too many failures and a poor response when I queried the failure rate of my purchases. On the other hand my Dakine shorts have been faultless and I have some Ground Effect stuff which is excellent. I gave up on overshoes years ago, too much hassle off road. Shimano winter boots if clipped in and Shimano AM41 and merino sealskins with flats.

I've had about 10 Endura items, all faulty in some way. Mainly zips, closures, that sort of thing but also holes randomly appearing in merino base-layers. The only thing I rate from them are the socks.

Whereas a friend I ride with rates them highly, never had a problem, and rides year round like me.

We're puzzled about the difference.

I've been impressed by the quality of Madison clothing.

and for balance, most of my off road kit is Endura, and it gets used couple of times a week all year. Stealth, Windchill, Xtract tops, Singletrack shorts, Emergency Shell, Also have FS260 bibs for road. Only failures I have had in 10 plus years have been a zip on a Stealth.

I did have an awful pair of their winter gloves though, where the liners stuck to my hands whenever I took them off, although this happens with other brands too.

I had 2 pairs of Hummvee's a few years back. They were both labelled Large but one was at least XL.

I have a Madison water/windproof softshell gilet that is good quality.

Poor stuff made badly. So many items I hoped would be good have failed. Unwanted I like them, genuinely but they just don't last.

Sorry overshoes, supposedly intended for muddy damp conditions that fasten with zips?...

Nah.

Used to be a Endura fanboi but no more quality has gone down imho Alpkit need to make design bike clothing for off road/filth conditions

Stuff does wear out you know.....

Most of my kit is Endura and I I have had both sides of the coin. Some has lasted for ever with no issues (xtract bib shorts are my current favourite) while other stuff has died early. Stitching can be poor and had a couple of zips fail.

Whenever I have sent stuff back the service has been very good. Either a quick repair or replaced item (they are local to me so that may help).

Have been caught our with some of their sizing issues too.

Sorry. Endura rocks! I've got loads of it from overshoes to hats. For what you pay it does the job awesomely. And the customer service is first class. I've had zips go in Craft gear and even Castelli. Shit happens but on the whole it's mint. In fact I just bought a second pair of singletracks in the Scotby Cycle sale with 20% off cos their the best pants in the world for everyday life and I was worried they would change them for the worse next year.

Endura have always been one of my go to brands. Never had an issue with their kit.

Unlike Altura which always falls apart within a few months. I'll never buy their stuff now.

weird how there is no middle ground with Endura.... some, self included have had very good performing kit, others very poor...

Just in from the first ride, of course these waterproof neoprene gloves leak like sieves, why would they not?

I had some of them overshoes back in the day, they were crap then too. I've been using BBB ones for the last couple of years still as good as the day I got them. I was ready to buy a packagilet the other week but the zip was terrible in the shop so the search continues.

Humvee shorts & riding top here. No problems.
Pair of Full Monty gloves are splitting at a seam though.
