How does their ordering system work!?

Snapped my derallier Sunday so ordered a new one and splashed out on some new tires and grips too on the 27th.

Now I know there was a bank holiday but when I read threads with people who have ordered after me and already recieved their stuff it's a bit annoying. They took the money straight away yet still not even a mail to say it's dispatched! Postie has been and gone 🙁

Already missed one ride and now Sunday is looking dodgy.

Grr. I feel slightly better now 😉

MM

I waited 6 days from ordering for a brake.

Sometimes they're very good, other times they're not very good.

Merlin & Wiggle on the other hand never fail to deliver goods within a couple of days

It's an Epping Forest mud fest- you only need one gear anyway 🙂

If you are buying mail order there is always this risk, might not even be their fault. We've had collection cards through the door even when we've been at home, I'm sure some delivery drivers do this to save them time. If you want a part now then probably best to go to your local shop.

Take that with a pinch of salt, some of my orders are still showing processing and I've had the parts 6 months.
Ring them up.

Lets face it, it is a dangerous time to be ordering and expecting immediate delivery. There`s 3 extra holidays (4 if your in Scotland) in 10 day period, and a lot of people are on holiday anyway. As was stated above, try the LBS, they may have more than you expect.....

Some of it maybe the post as I put 2 orders in 1 day apart - got one order (smaller one) yesterday (the 2nd order) and the first order today (bigger parcel - both RM 1st class 🙂

phone them and ask? or are their phones not open until the new year?

and surely even halfrauds have a rear mech to get you going again, even if its a cheapo for one ride, and they will be open, so the whole 'I'm missing riding because of CRC' thing doesn't really wash....

sorry if that sounds harsh, i don't mean it like that, it is damn annoying when things don't come as quick as you expect, just trying to keep things in perspective...

Mountainmutant, looking at this the order was dispatched on the 30th, that was at just after 7pm though and will not have actually been collected by Royal Mail until today.

Our apologies at the delay, the order build up during Christmas when we were close and the sheer volume of orders the sale has been generating has caused a few delays.

We are catching up quickly....

Schweiz I can't tell with your order as you do not have an email in your profile like Mountainmutant does...

hey andy@crc i ordered 2 things on tuesday night expecting them to be dispatched the next working day (yesterday) so it at least stood half a chance of getting here today....the website states you do this too, yet gone on this morning and it still said processing, which was gutting, i paid £5 quid more to use CRC as the delivry and processing is all usually spot on, really disappointed as i needed these bits for saturday and now i cant use my bike 🙁 its now showing dispatched but its obviously too late as ive had the bits delivered to work and i wont be here saturday to get them 🙁 i know theres been a sale/xmas rush etc etc but it still defeats the wording on the website, i would have ordered else where and made sure they were posting them yesterday if i had known and saved £5....anyways rant over, i guess theres nothing can be done now! 🙁

I rode with you for a few rides, I was the slow chap, glasses with the Magnesium hardtail and v brakes then the blue PA853, Grant made me laugh a lot (he is on here too, but I forget his AKA. Offer still stands, email if needed, you could even collect before if you need to.

Didzy2009 obviously delays are not what anyone wants and we do what we can to avoid them but they can and do happen.

Hard for me to comment further without any details or email address to look up your account with.

Email me and i'll check into specifics for you.

Andy

i sent an email to CRC this morning, didnt respond to me at all with a written sorry or anything, just got an email about 20 mins after saying it had been dispatched and they didnt even respond to the question id asked about having it sent to my home address instead 🙁

is that a possibilty andy once the order says its been dispatched (even though its only just been physically processed about an hour ago)??

Didzy2009, an email sent this morning will tack on to the end of the 500 strong inbox currently. If you email me I can see if it is still locatable, though if dispached an hour ago it will either have left or be in one of a fairly large number of mail bags.......

Jesus...

What crap service, I mean if it were christmas, new year or something like that then it may be excusable!

I think CRC have raised the bar so high that we all expect parts on our doormat the instant we press the button. I am amazed they have the logistics prowess to do the incredible job they do.

Go eat another mince pie and wait.

Got to say, if I needed a part for a weekend ride at the moment I would go to my LBS. You can't really blame CRC for this - it is Christmas after all.

flamejob

i agree with what your saying and im usually quite easy going, but thats exactly why i ordered from them, due to there superb service in the past, i know i run the risk of it not being delivered in time via royal mail or whatever, but i at least expected it to be dispatched the next working day....thats why i went to them first to order and not another site that had them a bit cheaper....im just a bit gutted, i now stand no chance of getting out on sunday due to this, i thought it would at least get processed as the site says the next working day....im not having a go at them i understand they are busy but its still screwed me up as a customer...

now wheres that mince pie 😉

If I ever need something really fast, especially at this time of the year, I do a crazy, crazy thing.

I go to a shop...

If I don't need something really urgently I use a website and save a bit of money

Its not rocket science.

If you need something desparately, either buy it from the LBS, or accept that at the busiest time of year there may be some delays.

Just for a change of mood, I'm very happy with CRC. Went for free delivery, ordering on Sunday 27 at 11.30pm. Didn't expect to see anything till today or Saturday but it all arrived with me yesterday & is now fitted to the bike.

Hurrah

I heart CRC 😳

Jeez, I'm glad I don't run an interweb sales thingy..

Just pause for a minute & remember what it was like before a huge range of goodies were available at the touch of a button & then thank the lord for CRC etc

i dont believe they do sell fullstops mrmichaelwright i cant really understand why not though they sell just about everything else you would have thought punctuation was top on their priority lists and mine also perhaps i will email them to see if they can send me some free with my next order then at least you will be a satisfied young man and i can insert them in the correct places for you FULLSTOP 😉

i talk very fast a bit like john barnes, therefore i dont ever finish a sentence, its more a continual flow like the master of rap 😉 🙂
