Groupset - What is it worth

Hey everyone,

This is a bit of a noob question but I am thinking of building up a gravel bike (first one) and a friend of mine has a new groupset from a build he planned to do last year, however in change in his circumstances means he cant start the build and is wanting to clear the parts.

He has the below, I know there are high spec (XX1/AXS) but I dont know the value as a set, I believe 'Force' is also high spec to, similar to X01?

XX1 AXS 12 rear mech
Sram force cranks and BB
eagle chain
GX cassette
Force brakes with AXS shifters
2 sram rotors
Charger

Honestly I dont have a clue of the value to offer him. What would a realistic market value be for this if he stuck it on eBay and I will perhaps go in slightly below this?
The brakes/shifter and rear mech are of course where most of the value is.

Any help appreciated.

Force is one down from RED (Dura ACE / XTR), so high end.

If it's all relatively new/unused, just price up RRP. There has to be over a grand's worth of bits there easily.

AXS shifters are like rocking horse shit at the moment. If ‘your friend’ ebayed them, he probably get RRP or maybe more. Now is not the time to be offering under market value for that stuff.

Wait for him to eBay them and bid with everyone else?

Search for each item as on eBay, filter for sold items so you know what they actually go for 'used' tot it all up and deduct 10-15% for "mates rates" and eBay fees he wouldn't have to pay, if that seems reasonable offer it.

Oh and get him to show you mech moving with the shifter just to be sure...

Thanks guys, he was going to stick it all on eBay individually until he found out about my possible build. Like I say I honestly dont know the value of the road components so was going to offer £1k but I also dont want to take the mick as I know he needs the money and I am not one for low balling a friend so I will do some research and try and agree on a fair price. The shifters/brake combos do look expensive on their own!

What does he want for it all?

He just wanted me to make an offer and to be honest he would probably take anything within reason but I wanted to get an idea on the value so I can at least be fair.
This is why he was going to stick them all on an eBay auction.

There’s probably about £1600’s worth of gear on that list. Force AXS hrd shifters alone probs worth £600-£700 at mo due to their scarcity.

Excuse my stupidity, what are the HRD shifters?

The ones he has are an all in one so basically the force shifter with hydraulic disc calipers attached and then the AXS shifter built in, like this:

HRD are hydraulic, as said they are very rare just now.

Okay cheers guys. I will pop round to check it all later on, I was going to offer £1k but think its a bit low. Perhaps £1200, if he eBayed it all he might get a couple of hundred more but after fees not too far off my offer?

Looking forward to getting it all on the bike now!

do the old "both write down a figure"

compare the results. If you are higher than him but are happy to spend it help the mate out.

If he is higher than you split the difference.
