Gunna move my garage contents around, so need a new ground anchor , I have a 19mmm main chain, which the like of Kyptonites/abus's unit won't fit a chain this large, so options I'm looking at are
Hardie Ground Anchor
(Almax) Defiant Ground Anchor
(Torc) Double Doofer Removable Ground Anchor
Torc: Ground Anchor Series II
and realistically the Hardie or Torc Series 2 are the main contenders. The Hardie for ease of fitting (One bolt) or the Torc becuase I know I can get several chains through the hoop. Any experiences with any of these unit you 'd like to share? (even just that it 'works')
I got a Torc anchor, would happily recommend it. High quality, and solid.
Fitting was a pain, but only because the concrete it was being fitted into was poor quality so the resin capsules failed. I got a shield bolt kit instead, and had no problems fitting it.
Customer service (from Pragmasis) was superb, which is another reason to recommend the Torc.
now that is useful, I know my concrete isn't the best, hence thought the Hardie one bolt fitting might be easiest. Will bear it in mind if I do go with Torc.. which TBH is edging ahead, due to the size of the 'hoop'
Torc here - again the customer service and fitting advice was superb (I had to go through rebar to fit mine).
If the concrete quality is suspect then you really don't want to rely on a single fixing into it - it might be easier to install, but could be just as easy to break out. Looks like the Torc anchor is available with a good range of fixings - which suggests that they've thought about it quite carefully and put together solutions that work (providing that the end user has picked the right fixing kit, and installed it carefully).
