Many people doing the Tweedlove Gritopia on Saturday?  Not sure what to expect really, last few races up that way have been on the Enduro bike, but I trust them to run a good event.

Was meant to be doing it but I've had to pull out due to other commitments, shame as I was looking forward to it. They're saying it's meant to be a new course this year and less tarmac so it should be good. Enjoy it

Based on the one I did a few years ago your enduro bike would be better suited than a gravel bike.!!

Well Gritopia was a grand day out. Got proper lucky with the weather as it was bone dry. Deffo didn’t need the enduro bike but 50Km/h on 42c at 40psi over rough, loose fire road was interesting. As usual for any event the Tweedlove guys put on things were slick. Sign on was quick, course markers clear and there were plenty of marshals.

Cracking course (although there will be a few complaints from roadie riders 😉). I’ve cycled round the valley for years but hadn’t been on some of these tracks. The climb up to the Souther Upland Way was a joy 😳. It just kept going up and up! Great volunteers, especially at the feed station although the water lady was concerned she hadn’t seen her partner who was riding the course. Hope they were ok! All in all a great day finished off with a cracking Burrito 🌯

Deffo not hard technically. Just doing it on drop bars adds some spice.

I did it as a last minute entry. The route was great - fab to see some of the lesser seen parts of the valley. I wasn't quite so impressed that I was sent the wrong way by a Marshall so missed the last loop. Still...39 miles and 5300 ft climbing was a decent workout...and I finished 3rd out of those doing the two loop route.
