I've just tried changing the gear cables on the boy's bike, SRAM X3 gripshift. I downloaded the instructions and followed them, but I'm stuck. The old cable came out as instructed, but I'm damned if I can get then new one in. I've done loads of cable changes on Shimano rapidfire and thumbshifters, so thought "how hard can it be", I'm assuming that I've missed something really simple. HELP!

Yes, cable seems to be guided into a hole, but just gets stuck, it won't turn the corner and exit the barrel adjuster.

They can be a bitch. Teh cable sometimes catches on the barrel adjuster so it's worth removing that.

A wee bend in the end of the cable can help.
