And that's three no's. At least you've got your bus fare home and it'll take me a few minutes to count it out...

Apart from sram stupidity when they first went 10speed grip shift never left and is still the best option

Yup - all my bikes have twist grip shifters. Neater, lighter, easier to use

Anything you have to twist on a handlebar should only be fitted to a motorcycle.

Forget the cheap tat on your first bike or your kids bike.
Proper grip shift x9 and up always did work well.

I still miss the clear case x-ray ones - bugger feel old now

But, but my left hand!
It's all weak from not having to change gear.

Oh no, a hill, don't....have... the....strength.........

Only just gone to trigger from Gripshift since the 90's.

Earlier i stumbled upon a receipt from '96 for a pair of X Ray Gripshifters funnily enough!

Still love gripshift to be honest.

But yeah.... Triggers aren't so bad really. 😉

God no, not ever for a minute. I had them and they were bloody terrible things and I can remember really struggling to shift on freezing cold days when they would stiffen up and my fingers couldn't provide the required friction to make them turn.

Nostalgia has its place, but I will never miss these!

Are The Beautiful South going to write a song about it? 😉

Not sure how long I'm going to last on triggers after the last 5 years on good grip shift. Will. Probably go grip on the eagle next. Great shifters always have been.

Id been thinking about going back to gripshift (after 20 odd years) as I did actually like it, but the ludicrous cost of X01 or XX1 eagle gripshift made it a painful experiment, but now theres a GX version for 25% of the price I think I might just give it a spin again! Pun intended.

I had the Sachs wavey ones back in the day , I didn't know the new gx had a grip shift option . Been a shimano fan for ages but the new sram stuff does seem to be taking them ahead at the moment

I liked my SRT600's way back when and the Sachs Waveys I had were also very good. Loved the ability to trim the front mech!
