I've seen that ESI grips get a lot of praise, but Superstar have an apparently similar silicone grip for half the price. Has anyone tried them?
ESI Chunky's are 16 quid, not 30?
Thought the SS were £6, but was wrong, they're £10. Perhaps not enough of a difference to chance the SS ones?
I've got ESI racers edge and the SS ones. The SS ones aren't quite as 'sticky' and feel a little bit harder. They are softening up a touch after a few weeks and I'm happy with the grip now and they will hopefully be a bit harder wearing than the ESI's.
Which do you find more comfortable?
ESI's maybe just edge it for comfort because of the softer material. The Superstar ones are still comfy though. Not much in it
Ok ta
Had both, esi better than ss IMO, ss seem to mould/compress to your hand shape after around 20-30 mins and loose any cushioning effect. Esi stay comfy.
Halfords had clarks foam grips for £4.00 , not tried them but at that price its worth a punt .
Foam grips are much harder than ESIs, and plenty around that price. Foam are also very slippery when wet. I like the ESIs, they are fragile though.
Bought some esi extra chunky grips, they're ok but still not the holy grail for me, solved some of the arm pump and cramping issues I was having on long descents.
They're pretty boring looking though and the tart in me wishes they were prettier.
They come in loads of colours if that helps...
Food for thought then. What about the Ergon GA or GE grips? I'm looking for something that will help reduce hand discomfort.
I think if changing grips hasn't made a noticable difference, then the problem's probably just elsewhere- grips can help but if the problem's in hand position or lever setup or something then it's not likely to fix it... For me it's always braking that does it- deathgripping or bad lever position.

Wierdly, I used to find this years ago, but since going back to them (Ritchey) they've been fine, maybe gloves are made out of something different that grips them now.
Lock-on foam grips are rubish though.
