A broken thumb and a broken wrist this year with the seeming lack of ability to do sufficient physio and unable to stop doing the things that aggravate the injury means I need to figure out a grip solution.

ESI's have been good but I need something for the winter bike tha'll hold up a little better to the inevitable..

WIth the UCL pain, I'm tending to load the outside of my hand to de-weight my thumb joint. I have some Ergon GE1 evo factory on 800 bars but they are really firm.. very little cushioning.
What else is out there?
Soft thick Deathgrips, SQLabs 70x/711 or just be prepared to replace the ESI's if i tear them?

Some added width with a tapered inner would be nice.. this is one of the limiting factors with ESI's on my current bars as they're 760's wheres as I'd normally run esi's on a 800.

Or new Oneup bars perhaps and stick with ESIs
Tia

I just got some of the PNW Components Loam grips (15% off with code ENDOFSUMMER)
and they’re really soft. Really pleased with them especially as with the old hard grips I had before I was getting some tennis elbow like pain on longer rides, but in the couple I’ve done on these since I’ve not had any of that pain at all. Which is I think due to them being a bit bigger. Only took a few days for them to arrive from Sacramento too.

They look interesting, do they add any bar width?

They aren't as long as the syncros grips I had (same length as the deathgrips I had), so my hands are further out on the bars and had to move the brakes etc out a bit to get them in the right place. So in effect they add a bit. I've also seen people run these type of grips a few mm out rather than butted up to the end of the bars. Not sure if the manufacturers would recommend it.

Check out the new ODI dreadlocks, they seek to tick all the boxes you mentioned.

Mine were free shipping, so not sure happened there. Might be a glitch in their system, so could be worth contacting them?

I use ergon gp1 grips, I literally can’t ride with anything else nowadays.
Ymmv, of course.

Ergon GA3 grips are working for me.
I was suffering from Cyclists Palsy and they have helped tremendously by taking some of the weight off the heel of my hand.
