Skate shop, got some for lads pedals from local shop. It's led to me buying him a proper deck so be careful...

If it's just for a shifter a skate shop might have some off cuts in the bin. I asked and got about a 6" strip.

Its sometimes called carpet tape, you'll get it in any diy shop.
