So the GOAT is calling time on his WC career.

Hard to believe he's been around for so long and been so successful throughout.

Nice tribute from Norco:

So glad we got to meet and chat to him at Fort William this year.

We went to one of the Bike Shows back in the day, with people like Dave Hemming, Rob Warner, (gawd I can't even remember the names!) and Minnaar was riding  there. It's crazy how all the others just seem riders of the past, yet Greg was still up there

IMO he left it a bit late. Always appears to be the way with MTB DH riders.

Bernard Kerr is another one. I am convinced hes going to injure himself badly chasing that illusive win, or hes just going to keep crashing in to obscurity.

Can you even really call yourself a mountain biker if you haven't got a picture with the GOAT?

End of an era when he crosses the finish line

I’m sure he will be back as Team owner or manager. He has a very shrewd business brain aswell as being a super talented rider

That was basically the plan with Norco I think - after his dissapointing final year on syndicate, the plan was always going to be do a bit of racing to begin with but probably morph into more of a supporting/managing/whatever roles. I reckon he will still be around at the races for a fair while.

He's going to be Norco's team director. It's on their press statement
