Only 11 other people have completed it’: cycling the 7,600km European Divide

I could be tempted by an on-road version.

Would love to do this. Maybe, when the kids have left home, and I retire ...

Angus Young’s video is worth a watch on this route:

I'm trying to imagine that somewhere in a parallel dimension, there's a version of myself, who could get 3 months off work to just go and do something. Madness.

it would be incredibly selfish to take 3 months from my family to do it, but wow!

Always amazes me that so many experiences in such a trip are condensed down to a few hundred words & a handful of pictures

If anyone does head out on it I'm happy to help out as I live quite close to it between Grenoble and Chambery. Andy stayed with me a few times whilst he was doing his up and down europe thing...interestingly as a result it goes very close to my current abode and my previous abode ;).

Bumped into a German couple doing the route last week. It runs about 20km from where I live in Southern Cataluña. They were at a local outdoor shop buying replacement shorts as he'd worn his into holes. They were riding south to North ie starting in Portugal and planning to ride back to Germany, they'd been on the trail about 2 months so taking it steady. I rode a few km with Angus Young last summer, he was pretty knackered by the time he got here.

It's a good thing the two people who met at the start of the route got on, because it would be really awkward to spend the next three months bumping into someone you didn't like every night at the same campsite...
