Had a pair of Gravelkings on bike for nearly a year . Front one started playing up recently, tried the usual remedies just wouldn't hold air so gave up and whacked a new one on .
Now the back one has joined in 🙄I found a small nick in the tyre which sealant doesn't seem to seal . They've done around 4000 miles still look like they've got life in them ?
I used to find that Ardents were great until they were half worn then were prone to punctures I'm wondering if these are the same ?
Which GKs? Slick, SS, SK, EXT? black, tan walled or colourful?
There's quite a few variants and sizes of GK now.
4k miles isn't that bad depending on what the tyre has been used for has it's life been more on or off-road? Year round riding or only during nicer weather?
- @cookea SK + 50 mmBlack a mix of gravel paths some mellow off road and country lanes around Somerset Levels all 4 seasons
The original GKs were awful so I'd be pleased to get 4k issueless miles out of them
I'm one of the weirdos who never had a problem with Gravel King's (38mm, tan wall SK). Went up with a trackpump, only needed one plug for a bigger hole that didn't seal.
I'd say 4000 miles out of a tyre is pretty good going. Convert it pennies per mile. It's probably what I got out of mine before I replaced it.
- Yeah I decided it's time to replace, don't like doing it when there's still tread left but if I can't have confidence in the tyre it's time . Just over a penny a s( mile) isn't too shabby , replacement ordered for £34.99 👍

Nothing goes wrong with a tanwall they're just too damn cool to fail.
