Have WTB stopped making the Nano, or is it just the supply that's an issue?

I really like my 40c TCS Nano's, but need a replacement and due to the lack of availability I'm going to go for something else (yes I realise I can get them from ze germans).

What do you recommend that's a close alternative to the Nano, use is I'd say 50/50 on/off road.  Some tread for forest singletrack/gravel fireroads, but also fast rolling for tarmac are the requirements.

Any thoughts on the WTB Riddler 37c or Gravelking SK 37c?   Don't think frame has clearance for over 40c allowing for mud.

I’m a big fan of the Maxxis Rambler EXO/TR.  Ran these tubeless for a trip up the west coast of Scotland last year, a mix of road and forrest (about 80% / 20%) and they were excellent.  The 40c version is about 39mm on Stans Iron Cross rims at 35 - 40 psi.

Cross Boss is a pretty good all-rounder, rolls quickly, comes up a bit bigger than the 700x35 sizing might suggest. Think the tread is a bit taller than either Riddler or Gravelking though

Have a look at Giant tyres. I’ve just fitted a Crosscut Gravel 2 700x40 (other sizes available) to the rear of my Escapade. Very reasonably priced at £29.99, tubeless ready, rolls well and grips well (unless it’s really muddy), just like the Nano performs. If you want a more solid centre tread then Giant also do the Crosscut AT at £24.99, also a tubeless tyre.

Recently shod with Rambler on back and Riddler up front - frankly astonished at how well they grip a variety of surfaces (though it goes without saying they'll not be fabulous in true Northern Slop) and they roll really nicely on tarmac.

The Riddler isn't very tall, at least not compared to the Knard it replaced, though my forks wouldn't have space for the 45. Pressure went down to about 30PSI (first ride on ghetto tubeless) and didn't feel any rim strikes on a pretty lairy (for CX bike) bridleway descent

I really like the Vittoria Adventure Trail II TNT, granted it's not as knobbly as the nano, but it's bloody fast on tarmac and hardpack and does ok off road.

Fitted a pair of Vittoria Adventure Trail II TNT 2 weeks ago went up tubeless no problem. They are slightly heavier than others but seem very robust.

Rode it at Pembrey 2 days ago, sand and gravel....brilliant tyre and every cheep on PX.

Somebody was selling a pair on classifieds recently

Schwalbe G One is as good on gravelly off road as a nano and much faster on road.

I think there's a problem with the supply of WTB tyres as there's a few out of stock everywhere I've looked.

I've the Riddler 37C, like them but not used a lot to compare them with. My frame won't take any bigger. Roll pretty well on road, a decent amount of grip on rocky stuff off road, interesting in mud on limestone!

Watch out for the thin sidewalls on the Cross Boss - I had to run mine pretty firm to avoid squirming. They were quite porous when set up tubeless too.

I think there's a consignment of WTB tyres due to land shortly in the UK - I have a pair of 45mm Riddlers on order and they're due in a few weeks.

Gravel King SK is definately worth a look, surprisingly quick on road, capable off road too.

I recently put gravelkings (although 43mm version) on my vaya and blown away by them. Done 50 mile road rides, gravel tracks and rough farm tracks in heavy downpours, they have performed impeccably.  Very fast and smooth on the road, excellent grip off road.

Rambler was one of the worst tyres ive ever had. Rediculously loose bead, very round profile, low volume, knobs tear off, and endless punctures. I found the Riddler and GK both better than the Nano fwiw. The Nanos lack of shoulder knobs made it sketchy in the dirt and ruts.

I would order from the Ze Germans, i ordered a set of tan-wall Nano's in 700 x 40c flavour, they turned up in 4 days, quicker than items from two UK suppliers and cheaper, that was from R-2 bikes, hate to say it, but UK shops and websites are really struggling against the German sites for price and more importantly for actually having stock, comes to something when the best place to buy Hope RX4 callipers was Germany!

I've got a pair of 40C tubeless Nanos that I've been meaning to put up for sale if interested.

Clearance was a bit suspect so I swapped them out for Riddlers for they are barely used. One has done about 30 miles and the other 10 ...
