While I've been waiting for my cyclescheme 1k certificate, all the medium gravel bikes with tiagra for that price have sold out since I applied for the voucher.

Can anyone recommend one so I don't have to wait months? I was looking at the arkose d2 with tiagra and hydraulic brakes. Nothing seems to come close. Perhaps triban gravel with mechanical brakes but thats out of stock too.

Otherwise I might end up cancelling the voucher to spend more.

Cheers!

Merlin charge 10% fee, so https://www.merlincycles.com/wilier-jareen-race-tiagra-gravel-bike-179193.html for £900

Or https://www.merlincycles.com/merlin-malt-g1-tiagra-gravel-bike-2020-147541.html for £700, but only has mechanical disc brakes

Or https://www.halfords.com/boardman-adv-8.9-mens-adventure-bike-526787.html for £1k, but stock is limited (like a lot of Halfords bikes at mo)

I’ve got the the boardman and really rate it. I did replace the crankset for a tiagra crankset though.

Epic Cycles had the Cannondale Topstone tiagra in stock last week when I enquired.

Thanks. I can get the boardman near me so thats an option I'll look at. Voucher apparently coming no later than Wednesday.

I think on principle if I was going to pay 10% cyclescheme tax to Merlin I would cancel the voucher and buy something without a certificate. Feels a bit naff doing all this for savings then losing that much. Decent looking bikes though so cheers for finding.

The topstone would be great if they can do it for 1k. I'll get in touch.

The road version of the triban is in stock. It's basically the same bike marketed differently. You'd have plenty of change from £1k to spend on changing the tyres.
The only other differences from the "gravel version" off the top of my head are colour scheme and flared bars. If I've missed a difference it's insignificant.

This was psychologically easier when I did it because there used to be a price difference meaning I still came out ahead. Still worth it now though, nothing else gets near that spec for the money. Brakes are fine. I love mine.

I've been looking at that for weeks and I'm pretty sure they've just stuck £100 on in the last day or two!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm sure I could make that work. I have the weekend to decide.

Pretty sure I got the last D2 in stock in the country last week besides small. You might find some 2020 Giant Revolt 1s kicking about, bit more though and cable hydrolics. GT Grade AL Expert on wiggle with 105?

Thanks. I might wait for the d2 to come back in stock. Turns out halfords dont do cyclescheme which is what I have. They do their own.

I can't go over 1k unless I just cancel the scheme which would be a hassle now.

Have fun with yours 🙂
