I’ve got a week booked off in mid-June, and thought I might use it to tick off a coast-to-coast.

I’d prefer to take the gravel bike, but all the online routes are either MTB or road, and I don’t fancy Black Sail Pass and its friends on drop bars...

Has anyone got any useful route advice? (I know other C2C options are available, but this one appeals for some reason!)

Not quite the same but a friend is aiming to do this in a couple of days on a gravel, https://www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map/route/reivers-route, can't comment but worth a read, enjoy your travels.

There must be some way to join C2C (Whitehaven to Sunderland) to W2W (Walney to Whitby) without going all the way to Sunderland and back out. Maybe something between Consett and Bishop Auckland? Should be able to pick up some of the Moors to Shores gravel / adventureX route in the North Yorks Moors too.
