Had a search but can’t find any current posts on here (since the gravel booom)
Possibly heading off to Mallorca in may and have never ridden there.
Been a few times over the years but for rock climbing, so have been pretty blinkered.
After two bits of advice
1. Any locations to consider basing ourselves (family) with easy access to gravel roads (for me!)
2. Where are the best places to base yourself in general. We spend most of our time away, in the campervan, in the high mountains. So anywhere too built up and hotel dominated, isn’t really our thing. Will probably look for an air bnb or something...
Although easy access to some life, quiet beach, swimming etc is needed to make life easy for child entertainment.
Gracias
The two firms I know that are operating guided gravel riding are based in Sineu in the South central part of the island.
Doesn't strike me as a very 'gravelly' destination, even some of the tarmac roads can be a bit dead-endy or suddenly private etc. Doubt you'd get many decent continuous routes without a lot of faffing.
Sure you couldn't just suck it up and hire a road bike out there? The road riding really is very very good, seems a shame to miss out on Puig Major, Col de Soller, Sa Calobra etc.
Don't hire a road bike! Leaving to head back to Bristol tomorrow. Lots of amazing gravel roads with some fun singletrack thrown in too. Contact Martin here and he'll provide some excellent routes.
I've been here the past week and its been lots of fun.

Why wouldn’t you hire a road bike? I’ve just spent a week hiking there and there are some very good roads for road cycling. People seem to be tolerant of cyclists as well, from what I saw and compared to the UK. Sa Colabra looks very good in the north - that’s where I would go.
I've been on training camps with my road bike and I've enjoyed riding gravel for a week far more. Drivers are more tolerant but I love the dirt more, I've ridden the major climbs and yes its fun but gravel riding is just more fun especially when you have some cheeky singletrack thrown in. I did ride up to Cap de Formentor as my friend was feeling a bit knackered its just more fun riding off road if you know where to find it.
Good to here all of the above
Anyone got any gpx files, or recommendations of cool places to stay?
I’d definitely like to have a blast up some of the road climbs too
The north is the hillier part where the mountains are. We stayed for a while in port soller, nice place with a very good bike shop on the front if you want to hire a bike.
However I am thinking road cycling, not gravel. Not sure where the gravel is!
