I need a low profile front mech as the current ultegra 11spd fouls the rear tyre (nano 40mm). Does such a thing exist?
I want to keep the double set up and the frame (PX full monty) has plenty of room for the tyre. Otherwise I’m looking at a 37mm tyre, which doesn’t seem to exist!

Clearly the issue is the you're using your gravel bike in a non-gravel environment. By the looks of it you need a Stickymud bike.

That's going to be tricky though, I doubt there's any road mech that is significantly slimmer.
FWIW Panaracer gravel king 35c measure up to about 37 wide though.

Or 1x11 it.

you 'could' try a side swing MTB mech, but you'll probably have to do so creative cable routing and may well need a shift mate to sort the pull ratio, but you might get lucky

Just go 650b then you can put 2" tyres on it, but they'll sit further away from the front mech.

Can't help, but I find it quite entertaining that the photo in the Planet X page for the Ultegra model shows that exact tyre and front mech combo... with part of the mech edited out?

But I also notice that they no long supply 40mm tyres when you buy one..

The Slate has the Shimano CX-70 front mech, seems to be a much shorter lever arm.

I think the latest generation Shimano road mechs would probably work (R9100, R8000)

Old Campag off Ebay? They never used to have such sticky-uppy clamp bits

Yep - do that. I’ve just done the same on my Gravel bike after having the same issue. New ultegra R8000 mech works perfectly.

If you don't fancy the R800 or R900 spend, there's also an update 105 mech, FD-5801, that gets rid of the long arm. Not sure that it's widely available as yet though.

Yep - was going to go for the 105 mech but couldn’t get one in the UK, so ended up going for the ultegra one from wiggle instead.

Probably worked out about a tenner more?

Cheers all! I did wonder about the new 8000 version, but it wasn’t obvious. Will see if any of the LBS have it in stock.
I like the photo above where they’ve clearly altered the front mech.
I’ve had a look and it it doesn’t work out, then it may be Ritchey Megabite 38c to the rescue

I need to change mine too.

Might get the 105 from Rose as that seems to be the only place I can get GP4 seasons in 32mm too.

Was going to add that as well but Madison not showing stock until Feb.

Nothing for you to do other than Di2 then, no 'arm' poking out that way!

On closer inspection that looks like the new R8000 front mech rather than some photoshopping?

Shimano 105 5801 - a new mech released recently.

I've just ordered one, but not fitted yet - from bikediscount.de

Update.
Just fitted the Ultegra R8000 front mech, job sorted. Loads of clearance with the nano in place.
Thank you!
