been looking at carbon rims for gravel bike 650b regular thru axle 142/12 & 100/10, shimano freehub, CL/6bolt
Any other good deals about, no reviews that puts me off a little, £350 for set.

Generic rim on a cheapo Chosen hubs. fine for the price but nothing special.
For anything that's going to be ridden off road and see a lot of grit and mud I'd want better quality hubs that I know I can easily get replacement bits for down the line and a decent quality alloy rim for that price point.
But that's me and your priorities may vary.
thanks @Hatters yeah didnt think they were anything special, as you say basic hub/generic rim, but for the price, and a quick google doesnt seem to be anything else comparable.
my current alu rims are battered and bruised, had a few sixth element wheelsets in the past on mtb and they've been great, hence looking at carbon

Wouldn't be put off by 24 spoke of a decent quality wheel, my 4 year old DT's only have 24 spokes and I'm a right chunky monkey.
I'd have a look on their sites and see if they list freehubs, internals axles end caps etc for their own brand wheels, if they do then you'll have a fighting chance of being able to keep them running, if not you could be left with a dead wheel in a few years.

I don't think you can go much wrong at that price? Even if you have to rebuild the wheel with a new hub.

I got a set of these recently, they seem pretty decent for £250, hubs are nice and quiet and seem to have a quick pickup.
These seem too good to turn down.... any way to get an XD freehob onto them?

I just fitted a set of the ribble wheels to my Ragley Trig, using my rubbish kitchen scales they are about 400g lighter than the stock wheels. I've not ridden them yet but they seem decent!
I was riding the trig this eve and I reckon the stock wheels are the weak link. They feel pretty sluggish.
Not 100% sure 650b will be for me on a gravel bike, but it'll be good to give it a proper try with these instead.
And maybe some quicker tyres too.
Ribble also had some WTB horizons for a tenner each, they are slicks but could be good if you're sticking mainly on the roads.
