Hi.

I had finally settled on a garmin 500. However, I then came across the bryton 50 which is about another tenner and had full maps. Been reading lots on both.

Only downside I think I can see to the bryton can't upload straight to strava but it does have maps which may be of use now and again.

Anyone have a view on either of the above, hopefully someone has owned both?

Cheers

Tom

I brought a satmap last yr for OS maps as I want to plan/follow off rd routes in middle of nowhere. Besides I didn't have a road bike so a garmin 800 & all the add ons would have been OTT.

This yr I brought a road bike... & a garmin 500 cause I wanted to see how I was getting on.

Still use both & glad I've got them.

Satmap to strava - I have to upload file to pc then manually upload it to strava. Might seem a fag but its quicker than waiting for strava to recognise 7months worth of data on the garmin.

I guess its depends what you are going to use it for now; in 6 months; a yrs time etc when you've got board of strava
