My mobile phone is hopeless for strava (Moto g 3rd gen). When I last looked you could buy some data loggers for about £30, but I can't find any now.

I don't need maps or directions or anything just something I can log my runs and rides to upload to strava.

Any recommendations?

Should have said, cheap and small and easy to use would be a bonus.

Firstly your phone should log without mobile signal

But like you I have been contemplating a separate logger. Partly as my phone doesn't seem very accurate. My search brought up this. But I don't own one

from this list

price might be too good to be true...

that's really good timing. Was wanting something for my son and that fits the bill perfectly.

Should have said the problem is the GPS on my phone is really inaccurate.

Lezyne looks spot on, anyone know it it will be happy in my pocket for running or will bouncing it about accidentally press buttons?

That memory map unit, that ampthill linked to, looks like a rebadged Holux unit.

I have the version without Ant+ (because I didn't need it) and paid about £80, over 5 years ago, so £50 is a bargain. (Compared to the Holux prices)

Considering that mine has been faultless, I can give it the thumbs-up.

Have you tried the Ghostracer app on your phone?

Been trying it this week with my new smar****ch, you can change the recording accuracy it terms of time and distance from the default 2seconds or 10 metres, with more frequent "pinging" using more battery.

Ghostracer can be linked to Strava.

Just downloaded the ghost racer app, will see if that helps. I've also got a Garmin forerunner from eBay for not much money.

Many thanks all
